Player, while sympathizing with Woods' chronic pain, advised him to refrain from driving, citing the dangers of operating a vehicle while on medication. Instead, Player suggested that Woods hire a chauffeur, as he himself has done despite still having sharp reflexes. Nicklaus also offered words of encouragement, stating that golf needs Woods and wishes for his return to the sport. Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley confirmed that the organization supports Woods' decision to prioritize his health and well-being, and wishes him the best in his recovery.
