Fury Vows to Make a Statement Against Makhmudov

In a lighthearted moment at their final press conference, Arslanbek Makhmudov lifted Tyson Fury off the ground in a bear hug, to which Fury responded with laughter and playful jabs. Fury is now focused on his mission to become a three-time world champion, starting with his upcoming fight against Makhmudov. Having recently come out of retirement, Fury is determined to reclaim a world title, beginning with this first step. He declared, "For the first time in a long time, I'm the one doing the chasing, not being chased." Fury asserted his confidence, stating, "I'm the best in this division, and I'll prove it repeatedly." With Oleksandr Usyk and Fabio Wardley currently holding the major world titles, Fury ultimately plans to target their belts, saying, "Sooner or later, they'll all have to face me - who else can they fight to make a profit?" At 37 years old, Fury must overcome doubts about his ability to make a successful comeback, including those from his own father. He retorted, "People say my legs and reactions are gone, but tune in on Saturday night and you'll see." Fury expressed his readiness, saying, "I've done over 500 rounds of sparring and still have my speed and reactions - I've still got it." While cautioning against underestimating Makhmudov, Fury warned, "All the other fighters can wait their turn to get beaten - give this man the respect he deserves." Fury admitted, "I feel sorry for Makhmudov - I'm going to make an example of him and knock him out."
