McIlroy Vows to Improve for Masters Victory

Rory McIlroy acknowledged that he must elevate his game to retain the Masters title after surrendering a six-shot lead during the third round. In a post-round interview with Sky Sports Golf, McIlroy stated, "I knew today wouldn't be easy, given the strong competition. I didn't quite have it today, but I'm still in a good position. I need to be better tomorrow if I want to win. I'm in the final group, which is where I want to be, but I wish I had a bigger cushion. I'll work on my game and try to figure it out." Despite his disappointing display, McIlroy remains confident about his chances, citing his experience and the fact that he's already won the tournament. He believes that having won last year and playing in a different final group will aid his chances. McIlroy thinks he'll play more freely, reminding himself that he already has a green jacket.
