Sky Sports Racing: Soul Love Aims for Prix Sigy Victory

Tuesday's Sky Sports Racing features the Group Three Prix Sigy, with Karl Burke's Soul Love leading the British charge in the Chantilly sprint event. This renewal appears to be highly competitive, with Argentine Tango and Soul Love at the forefront of the British contenders. Karl Burke, who achieved a win in France on Sunday, will be guiding the undefeated Soul Love, ridden by Sam James. As the daughter of Starman, she has shown promise by winning her first two starts on the all-weather, but will need to elevate her performance to remain competitive in this higher-level competition. She merits an opportunity at this level and has the potential to exceed expectations. Francis-Henri Graffard's Moojeed, who previously won at Group Three level as a two-year-old, will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing performance behind Green Sense in the Prix Robert Papin, with Mickael Brzalona at the helm. Argentine Tango, who demonstrated excellent form as a two-year-old, including a Listed contest win at Newmarket, is reported to be in fine form by her connections and could put up a strong performance. Lara Antipova, trained by Tom Clover, performed well on her debut at Wetherby in June before finishing second at Wolverhampton in February. She is expected to be a strong contender in this similar event. Lahan Kingman finished third to Guineas hopeful Touleen on her first start at Newbury last summer and then ran a creditable race when second at Wolverhampton last time. Sent off as the 4-5 favorite on that occasion, she is expected to improve on that effort, having shown signs of inexperience once again. Andrew Balding's Leonie is another contender, while Cosmic makes her debut for Richard Hannon, and Stolen completes the field. For fans of jump racing, Newton Abbot hosts a six-race card, featuring the Visit Kauto The King 6th May Handicap Chase. Recent winners Soldierofthestorm and Tapley are the top contenders in this event. Jonjo O'Neill Jr's Soldierofthestorm achieved his first win over fences at Sandown last month and, having jumped impressively on that occasion, is the one to beat under this 5lb higher mark. Tapley appears to be the main threat for the Suzy Smith team, having built on a couple of placed efforts to secure a second fencing success at Stratford, and deserves respect under Isabelle Ryder. Sheldon is also worth considering after his solid second-place finish at Newbury, although he has not achieved a win in over two years.
