Conor Benn Sets Sights on Ryan Garcia for World Title Shot

Following his victory over Regis Prograis, Conor Benn expressed his eagerness to challenge WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia. Benn secured a unanimous decision win against the former world champion at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, despite facing several head clashes that led to cuts on his eye. After the fight, he quickly turned his attention to Garcia, stating 'Garcia, I want my belt! Keep my belt warm' in a social media video. Garcia, who won the WBC welterweight title in February, responded by saying 'I'm down. Garcia vs Benn. Let's do it.' Benn's win over Prograis, which improved his fight record to 25-1, was at a catchweight 3lb above the welterweight limit. Benn has primarily fought at welterweight, with his only professional loss coming against Chris Eubank Jr at 160lb, before winning the rematch last year. Prograis pushed Benn hard, but the latter's superior speed and energy earned him a comfortable points victory. Benn stated, 'It was a great fight. Tough, durable, experience. I had to weather some storms but we are good. My first fight back at 150 for three years and now I'm ready to move down to 147 to get Ryan Garcia.'
