Chelsea to Face Manchester City in Women's FA Cup Semi-Finals

Reigning Women's FA Cup champions Chelsea are set to host Women's Super League leaders Manchester City in the semi-finals. The Blues secured their spot in the last four by defeating Tottenham 2-1 at Kingsmeadow. Manchester City then booked their semi-final against Chelsea, thanks to Khadija Shaw's goal, which gave them a narrow 1-0 win over Birmingham. The other semi-final will feature Liverpool hosting Brighton, following their quarter-final victories on Sunday. The semi-final matches are scheduled to take place on the weekend of May 9/10, with the final set for May 31. Chelsea's win over Tottenham was sealed by Veerle Buurman's stunning late strike, which beat Spurs goalkeeper Lize Kop in the 86th minute. Earlier, Eveliina Summanen's cross had leveled the score for the visitors in the second half, after Sam Kerr's header put Chelsea ahead before the interval. Manchester City's victory over Birmingham was courtesy of Shaw's goal, assisted by Iman Beney's fine ball, which Shaw slotted past goalkeeper Lucy Thomas. Birmingham put up a brave fight, but City came closest to scoring a second, with Thomas making a brilliant save against the bar from Yui Hasegawa's shot.
