Rose Refreshed and Ready for Masters Challenge

Justin Rose has dismissed any notion of added pressure as he seeks to make amends for last year's playoff loss at The Masters, having surged into contention at Augusta National with rounds of 70 and 69. One year after falling short to Rory McIlroy in a playoff, Rose is once again vying for major victory. He reflected that past near-misses have served as a lesson that he can win at The Masters. Rose mixed five birdies with two bogeys to set an early target in the clubhouse on Friday. "Being in contention is very satisfying," Rose expressed to Sky Sports, citing his enjoyment of competing at The Masters and the energy from the crowd. Rose recovered from an opening-hole bogey to card four birdies in a five-hole stretch, later countering a three-putt at the 12th by capitalizing on the par-five 15th to reach five under. Fellow Englishman Tyrrell Hatton trails by a shot after a six-under 66, marked by seven birdies and a solitary bogey at the last. World No 1 Scottie Scheffler, meanwhile, bogeyed both par-fives on his second nine to shoot a two-over 74. Scheffler felt his score did not reflect his performance, noting a slow start and missed opportunities early on.
