Rachael Blackmore to Receive Grand National Legend Honour

Rachael Blackmore, the pioneering female jockey who achieved a historic victory in the Randox Grand National, is set to be inducted as a Grand National Legend in 2026. This prestigious recognition comes after her remarkable win at Aintree in 2021, where she rode Minella Times to victory. The 36-year-old retired jockey, who concluded her career with 575 wins, including 18 successes at the Cheltenham Festival, will be formally honoured at a ceremony on the opening day of the Grand National Festival this Thursday. Blackmore will join an esteemed group of racing legends, including Ginger McCain, Jenny Pitman, and JP McManus, as well as iconic horses like Red Rum, Tiger Roll, and Aldaniti. The induction ceremony will take place near the newly renamed Blackmore's Bar, which Rachael will officially open on Thursday. Upon receiving the news, Blackmore expressed her gratitude, stating that having her name included among the Grand National Legends is a tremendous honour. She also looks forward to launching Blackmore's Bar, a unique concept that promises to enhance the racing experience for fans.
