Jango Baie Claims Bowl Victory at Aintree for Cheltenham Redemption

In a thrilling turn of events, Jango Baie, the Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up, secured a triumphant win in the Racing Welfare Bowl at Aintree. Nicky Henderson's seven-year-old rose to the challenge, taking full advantage of a fall from Impaire Et Passe. Despite imperfect jumping for much of the race, Jango Baie produced his best leap two fences from home, ultimately crossing the finish line with a 16-length lead over Dan Skelton's Protektorat. Henderson praised the horse, saying, 'Might Bite was second in the Gold Cup and came here to win this. He was a rogue, but this horse isn't.' The victory served as swift compensation for Henderson and jockey Nico de Boinville after odds-on favourite Lulamba unseated his rider in the preceding race. Henderson noted, 'It was tough for Nico, when you have what happened to Lulamba and then have to come straight into another Grade One. To pick yourself up, that's testament to a Grade One jockey.'
