The 24-year-old has accepted the penalty and will be sidelined until May 2. According to the Union Cycliste Internationale, the suspension period includes a one-day penalty previously imposed by Watts' team, which will be deducted from the overall suspension term. In the aftermath of the incident, Watts took to social media to offer an apology, attributing his actions to the intense pressure of the moment. His team, NSN Development, also issued a formal apology for the behavior of their rider.
