Women's T20 World Cup 2026: Record-Breaking Prize Fund Announced

A 10% increase has been announced in the total prize fund for the Women's T20 World Cup 2026, with the winning team set to receive $2.34m (£1.74m) and the runners-up taking home $1.17m (£871,024). All participating teams are guaranteed a minimum of $247,500 (£184,245), more than double the amount from 2024. The tournament, set to take place in England and Wales, will feature 12 teams competing in 33 matches across 24 days. The ICC CEO, Sanjog Gupta, stated that the growth of women's cricket is accelerating and the expansion of the tournament, combined with a record prize pool, demonstrates the commitment to building a stronger global game. The winners and runners-up prize pot remains the same as in 2024, but there was a significant increase of 134% compared to 2023. The total prize pot for the tournament has grown to $8,765m (£6,528m) with the expansion to 12 teams. Tournament director Beth Barrett-Wild said the event is set to be a landmark moment for the game, with record-breaking ticket demand and the largest-ever prize pot for a global women's T20 competition. The trophy tour will play a key role in building excitement ahead of the tournament, which starts on June 12.
