Double Injury Setback for England in Women's Six Nations
A double injury blow has struck England, with Morwenna Talling and Natasha Hunt forced to withdraw from the remainder of the Women's Six Nations tournament due to leg injuries sustained during the 33-12 victory over Ireland at Allianz Stadium on Saturday. Lock Talling was injured after 43 minutes, while replacement scrum-half Hunt lasted just 13 minutes before being substituted due to injury. This loss adds to England's existing lock crisis, with Zoe Stratford, Abbie Ward, and Rosie Galligan previously withdrawing due to pregnancy. England head coach John Mitchell acknowledged the challenge, stating that the team may need to adapt and rely on back-rowers. Talling and Hunt will remain in the England camp to consult specialists before commencing rehabilitation at their respective clubs. In response to the injuries, the RFU has confirmed that Sydney Gregson and uncapped Haidee Head have joined the squad to prepare for the upcoming match against Scotland at Murrayfield.
