Aspinall Claims German Darts Grand Prix Title with 8-5 Victory Over Noppert

Nathan Aspinall has won his fourth European Tour title, defeating Danny Noppert 8-5 in the final of the German Darts Grand Prix. Aspinall, who had previously won three European Tour titles in 2025, made a strong comeback in Munich, fighting off a determined effort from Noppert to claim the top prize of £35,000. The Stockport star won four consecutive legs from 5-4 down, achieving an average of 100.35 and hitting seven 180s to halt Noppert's bid for his first European Tour crown. Aspinall started the final day by beating Martin Schindler, his opening match opponent Ricardo Pietreczko's World Cup partner. He then defeated Andrew Gilding in the quarter-finals and produced a standout performance in the semi-finals, averaging 106.40 to overpower Kevin Doets and end a sequence of six successive defeats against the Dutchman. Aspinall's victory set up a highly anticipated match against Noppert, and he initially seemed poised to win easily after taking a 4-1 lead. However, Noppert capitalized on Aspinall's doubling struggles to win four straight legs and take the lead. Nevertheless, Aspinall responded with legs of 13, 12, and 15 darts to lead 7-5, before converting a clinical 128 checkout to cap off a brilliant display. 'I am absolutely thrilled,' Aspinall admitted, equaling Phil Taylor's haul of four European Tour titles. 'I've had a lot of setbacks this year, and it's been challenging to stay motivated, but nights like this remind me why I play the game.' Aspinall's win came after a remarkable turnaround, and he credited the Munich crowd with rekindling his love for darts.
