Blackburn Rovers moved closer to securing their Championship status with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against 10-man Stoke City. Adam Forshaw, who has scored only three goals in the past decade, gave Rovers the lead in the 21st minute with a beautifully curled shot from 20 yards. However, Stoke equalized in the 56th minute through Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who bundled the ball home after good work by Million Manhoef. The home side finished the game with a man down after Ash Phillips was sent off for a second bookable offense three minutes from time.
Despite the draw, Blackburn manager Michael O'Neill was pleased with the point, stating that every point is crucial in their bid for survival. Stoke manager Mark Robins, on the other hand, acknowledged the disappointment among fans but emphasized that the team is still in a rebuilding process after narrowly avoiding relegation last season.
