McIlroy Vows to Improve for Masters Victory

Rory McIlroy acknowledges the need for improvement in order to successfully defend his Masters title after surrendering a six-shot lead during the third round. McIlroy, who began with impressive rounds of 67 and 65, found himself tied with Cameron Young at 11 under par following a one-over par 73 on Saturday. In a post-round interview with Sky Sports Golf, McIlroy expressed his awareness of the challenge ahead, stating, "I knew today wasn't going to be easy. The quality of the chasing pack was very obvious, and a lot of the guys went out and played superb golf." Despite his lackluster display, McIlroy remains confident in his ability to win, citing his experience and the fact that he will be playing in the final group. He emphasized the need to be better, saying, "I wish I had a little bit more of a cushion, but I'm going to go to the range here and try to figure it out. I'll need to be better tomorrow." McIlroy's victory last year marked the end of an 11-year major drought and completed his career Grand Slam. This year, he faces a different type of challenge, but he believes his experience will aid him in the final round.
