Robson's Grueling London Marathon Prep: From Melbourne to Miami
Laura Robson, Sky Sports Tennis presenter, has been training relentlessly for the London Marathon, splitting her time between Melbourne, Milan Cortina, and Miami. Despite her demanding schedule as a television presenter and analyst, Robson has managed to fit in training runs amidst the Australian Open, Winter Olympics, and Miami Open. Now back in the UK, she's gearing up for the 26.2-mile challenge, which will take her through iconic landmarks like the Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge, and Canary Wharf, before culminating at Buckingham Palace. Robson admitted, 'I'm training for the London Marathon and it's brutal! I don't know why people do this.' She aims to achieve a sub-3:40 finish, although her Garmin and Strava suggest she's capable of a sub-3:30. To prepare, Robson has been focusing on a carb-heavy diet, increasing her electrolyte intake, and seeking advice from fellow athletes. She's looking forward to the electric atmosphere of the marathon, having experienced it firsthand while supporting a friend last year. With her biggest week of training approaching, Robson is eager to see it through and raise funds for the Give It Your Max charity, which provides free tennis lessons and support to kids in schools.
