Rachael Blackmore to Receive Grand National Legend Honor

Legendary jockey Rachael Blackmore, the first woman to claim victory in the Randox Grand National, is to be inducted into the Grand National Legends hall of fame in 2026. This prestigious recognition comes after her historic win on Minella Times at Aintree in 2021. The now-retired 36-year-old jockey will be formally honored at a ceremony on the opening day of the Grand National Festival this Thursday, joining an elite group that includes Ginger McCain, Jenny Pitman, and JP McManus, as well as renowned horses Red Rum, Tiger Roll, and Aldaniti. The ceremony will take place near the newly named Blackmore's Bar, which Rachael will officially open on Thursday. Reflecting on this achievement, Blackmore expressed her gratitude, stating that having her name alongside these Grand National Legends is a significant honor and a testament to her remarkable career. She also looks forward to unveiling Blackmore's Bar, an innovative addition to the racecourse that promises a unique experience for attendees.
