Wakefield Soar to Fourth in Super League with Dominant Victory Over Castleford

Wakefield surged into fourth place in the Betfred Super League standings, surpassing St Helens, following a resounding 34-0 win over West Yorkshire rivals Castleford, fueled by Jake Trueman and Oliver Pratt's two tries apiece. The game's early stages saw Trueman deliver a pivotal tackle on Tom Weaver, thwarting Castleford's scoring opportunity, before he scored at the other end, stretching to get the ball over the line. Although Jason Qareqare appeared to have opened the scoring for the hosts, his foot was ruled out of bounds, and Wakefield capitalized with their second try in the 20th minute when Corey Hall crossed in the corner. Pratt then turned provider, running down the right flank before switching inside to Trueman, who sealed the scoring in the 76th minute, capping Wakefield's fifth consecutive win in all competitions with a flourish. Wakefield now sits level on points with league leaders Warrington, as well as Leeds, Wigan, and Saints, while Castleford's heavy loss drops them to the bottom of the standings, below York and Leigh, based on points difference.
