Fury Aims for Devastating Knockout to Prove His Return to Form
Tyson Fury is determined to make a statement with a "brutal knockout" of Arslanbek Makhmudov, demonstrating his return to peak condition. Following a year-long retirement after his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk, Fury is set to face Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, buoyed by a training camp in Thailand. Fury is resolute that he will be rejuvenated for his comeback, saying: "I'm just doing what I've done before, but this time I'm bringing back things that I haven't been doing lately. If a 37-year-old Tyson Fury can replicate what I did at 27, then I'm really putting things together." He expressed his desire for a dominant victory, telling Sky Sports: "I want a brutal knockout over Makhmudov. It's going to be fun." Former heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, who has been training with Fury, shared his observations: "The training here is very difficult, but it's great to see Tyson perform in the ring against sparring partners and dominate everyone. He's in excellent shape, and I'm excited to watch him fight." Fury believes his time away from boxing has only strengthened his motivation, saying: "When you start out, you're driven by financial goals and material aspirations. But now, I do it because I love it. Having 16 months out of the ring has made me even more passionate about the sport." He reflected on his journey, stating: "It's remarkable what an individual can achieve. I'm a prime example - an unlikely champion from the north of England. I've changed my life, achieved my goals, and I'm continuing to do what I love."
