Player sympathized with Woods' struggles, stating that he understands the golfer's need for medication to manage his pain, but emphasized the importance of not driving while taking such medication. Instead, Player suggested that Woods hire a chauffeur to ensure his safety on the road. Nicklaus also offered words of encouragement, stating that golf needs Woods and hopes he can recover and return to the sport. Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley expressed the organization's support for Woods' decision to focus on his health and well-being.
