Andreeva Secures Spot in Linz Final Against Potapova

Mirra Andreeva has booked her place in her second WTA Tour final of the year, defeating Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-4, 6-1 in the Linz Open semi-finals. Andreeva, the top seed, made a strong start by breaking Ruse's serve in the opening game, but then struggled with back-to-back breaks on her own serve. However, she regained her composure to break Ruse to love in the eighth game and level the score at 4-4. Andreeva then took control, breaking Ruse again to claim the first set 6-4. Anastasia Potapova will join Andreeva in the final, having overcome Donna Vekic 6-4, 6-2 in her semi-final match. Potapova took an early lead, going 4-1 up, but Vekic fought back. Potapova held on to take the first set and continued her momentum in the second set, building a 4-0 lead before securing her first win over Vekic in their last three encounters. Potapova's victory marks her return to the final for the first time since her debut win three years ago. This will be the pair's fourth meeting, with Andreeva having won their last two matches, although they have not yet played each other on clay.
