Tom Watson Criticizes PGA Tour for Allowing LIV Golf Defectors to Return

Watson believes that the PGA Tour has reneged on its promise to ban players who left for LIV Golf, stating that if he were the commissioner, he would have imposed a lifetime ban. Instead, the tour has created a pathway for these players to return, with some, like Patrick Reed, set to rejoin the tour after serving a suspension. Watson argues that the players who left for LIV Golf violated the tour's rules by not protecting its sponsors and that their return undermines the tour's integrity. Reed, on the other hand, has stated that he is excited to return to the PGA Tour, citing its strong fields and competitive environment as the main reasons for his decision.
