Rachael Blackmore to Receive Grand National Legend Honor

Rachael Blackmore, the trailblazing jockey who claimed a historic victory in the Randox Grand National, is set to be inducted as a Grand National Legend in 2026. This distinction recognizes her remarkable achievement as the first female jockey to win the esteemed competition. The 36-year-old, who guided Minella Times to triumph at Aintree in 2021, will be formally honored during a ceremony on the opening day of the Grand National Festival. Blackmore will join an illustrious group of racing icons, including Ginger McCain, Jenny Pitman, and JP McManus, as well as legendary horses such as Red Rum, Tiger Roll, and Aldaniti. The ceremony will take place near the newly renamed Blackmore's Bar, which the jockey will officially open on Thursday. Reflecting on this accolade, Blackmore expressed her gratitude and pride, citing the win as an unforgettable moment in her life. She also looks forward to unveiling Blackmore's Bar, an innovative addition to the racecourse. Following her retirement in May 2025, with an impressive 575 career wins, including 18 at the Cheltenham Festival, Blackmore's legacy continues to inspire and influence the world of horse racing.
