QPR and Bristol City Play Out Goalless Draw

Queens Park Rangers and Bristol City extended their unbeaten streaks with a 0-0 draw at Loftus Road. The Robins, now under the interim management of Roy Hodgson, have not lost a game since his appointment and had previously won their first two matches under his guidance. QPR, meanwhile, remain unbeaten in their last five matches and welcomed back Rumarn Burrell, who made a substitute appearance after over three months out injured. Bristol City created the better chances in the first half, with Scott Twine missing a half-volley opportunity. QPR goalkeeper Joe Walsh made several key saves, including from Mark Sykes and Emil Riis, to keep the score level. At the other end, Kieran Morgan and Richard Kone spurned opportunities for QPR. After the break, Walsh pushed away another Twine shot and Paul Smyth sliced a shot wide. QPR head coach Julien Stephan made changes to his forward line, introducing Burrell and Daniel Bennie, but they were unable to break down the Bristol City defense. The visitors have now kept back-to-back clean sheets under Hodgson, who has brought a sense of solidity and organization to the team. Both teams worked hard, but clear-cut chances were scarce in the closing stages. QPR's Stephan praised his team's effort, stating that the season is not over and that the players are still motivated. Bristol City's Hodgson felt that the teams canceled each other out, but was pleased with his side's more adventurous approach in the second half.
