Andreeva Secures Spot in Linz Final Against Potapova

Mirra Andreeva has booked her place in her second WTA Tour final of the year, defeating Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-4, 6-1 in the Linz Open semi-finals. Anastasia Potapova will join Andreeva in the final, having defeated Donna Vekic 6-4, 6-2 in the other semi-final. Potapova took an early lead, but Vekic fought back before the Russian regained control to take the first set. She continued to dictate the pace in the second set, building a 4-0 lead before securing her first win over Vekic in their last three meetings. This will be Potapova's first final since winning the title on her debut three years ago. The final will be the pair's fourth meeting, with Andreeva having won their last two encounters, although they have yet to face each other on clay.
