Augusta National Masters Leaderboard: Final Results

The final standings from the Masters, the year's inaugural major golf tournament, held at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. Rory McIlroy, the defending champion, had won the previous year's event in a playoff against Justin Rose, making him the sixth player in history to achieve a career Grand Slam, a feat last accomplished by Tiger Woods. World number one Scottie Scheffler was the pre-tournament favorite, despite not having a top-10 finish in his last three PGA Tour events. However, McIlroy successfully defended his title, making history in the process. McIlroy carded a one-under 71 to finish one stroke ahead of Scheffler, while Tyrrell Hatton, Justin Rose, Cameron Young, and Russell Henley were tied for third, two strokes behind the leader. Collin Morikawa and Sam Burns shared seventh place, and Max Homa and Xander Schauffele rounded out the top 10. Patrick Reed and Shane Lowry had disappointing final rounds, with Reed finishing at five under and Lowry slipping out of contention with an eight-over 80. A total of 91 players competed in the tournament, the first of four majors in a span of four months in men's golf. The Masters is followed by the PGA Championship, the US Open, and the Open Championship. The PGA Tour now heads to South Carolina for the RBC Heritage, where Justin Thomas will defend his title. The next men's major, the PGA Championship, will take place from May 14-17 at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania.
