Robson's Grueling London Marathon Training: From Melbourne to Miami

Former Junior Wimbledon champion Laura Robson has been globetrotting for her role as a television presenter and analyst, but she's also been fitting in training for the London Marathon. From the scorching heat of Melbourne during the Australian Open to the freezing temperatures of the Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina, and the unpredictable weather at the Miami Open, Robson has faced diverse challenges in her preparation. Now back in the UK, she's gearing up for the 26.2-mile race that will take her through iconic London landmarks like the Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge, and Canary Wharf, before finishing at Buckingham Palace. Robson admitted, 'I'm training for the London Marathon and it's brutal! I don't know why people do this.' She aims to achieve a sub-3:40 finish, although her Garmin and Strava suggest she might be capable of a sub-3:30. To prepare, Robson has been focusing on a carb-rich diet, increasing her electrolyte intake, and seeking advice from fellow athletes. Despite the lack of a special diet, she's been consistent in her training, often running solo due to her work commitments. Robson is looking forward to the electric atmosphere of the marathon and is excited to support her chosen charity, Give It Your Max, which provides free tennis lessons and breakfast clubs for kids.
