QPR and Bristol City Share the Spoils in Goalless Draw

Queens Park Rangers and Bristol City extended their recent unbeaten streaks with a 0-0 stalemate at Loftus Road. The Robins, now under the interim management of Roy Hodgson, have not suffered a defeat since his appointment, winning their first two games under his guidance. Rangers, meanwhile, have gone five matches without a loss and welcomed back Rumarn Burrell from a three-month injury layoff as a substitute. City showed more promise in the first half, with their best chance falling to Scott Twine, who failed to make solid contact with a half-volley. Goalkeeper Joe Walsh made several crucial saves, including a shot from Mark Sykes and a deflected effort from Emil Riis, to keep the score level. At the other end, Kieran Morgan's shot went wide, Richard Kone's header was saved by City's on-loan keeper Radek Vitek, and Noah Eile nearly scored an own goal from Paul Smyth's cross. After the break, Walsh pushed away a shot from Twine, and Smyth sliced a shot wide following good work by Rayan Kolli. QPR head coach Julien Stephan changed his forward line in the second half, introducing Burrell and Daniel Bennie, but the visitors' defense held firm. Bristol City have kept consecutive clean sheets under Hodgson, who took over a team that had won just one of their previous nine games. Both teams worked hard, but there were few notable chances in the closing stages. The lack of quality was epitomized in stoppage time when Tomi Horvat over-hit a pass, allowing Walsh to collect. QPR's Julien Stephan reflected on the game, saying, 'The season is not over, and the players showed that in their mindset today.' Bristol City's Roy Hodgson noted, 'The teams cancelled each other out, but I thought we were more adventurous in the second half.'
