Rangers Stun Falkirk with Nine-Goal Thriller to Keep Title Hopes Alive

Rangers staged a remarkable comeback at Falkirk to maintain their push for the Scottish Premiership title, with just five games remaining. The visitors had begun the day in third place following wins by Hearts and Celtic on Saturday. However, after falling two goals behind due to strikes from Ben Broggio and Finn Yeats, it seemed like their chances were slipping away. Tochi Chukwanui's goal before halftime sparked a turnaround, and a blistering start to the second half saw Rangers take a 3-2 lead with goals from Yousssef Chermiti and Nico Raskin. Bojan Miovski added a fourth, but Falkirk pulled one back through Calvin Miller's penalty after James Tavernier fouled Filip Lissah. Yet, Rangers' title aspirations were reaffirmed as Miovski and Chermiti each scored again to seal the win. This result propelled Rangers back into second place, a point adrift of leaders Hearts, while Celtic trails by a further two points. The last time the top three Premiership teams all won on the same weekend was earlier in the season, a record Rangers were keen to avoid breaking. Chukwuani's contentious goal just before halftime ignited the incredible comeback. After Raskin's cross sailed over the goal, the ball landed on Djeidi Gassama's head, whose header hit the post before Chukwuani converted the rebound. The introduction of Bojan Miovski for Mikey Moore at the break proved pivotal. Gassama, now on the left, won the ball on the edge of the Falkirk box, and his low cross was flicked home by Chermiti. Rangers' threat increased, and they took the lead in the 52nd minute when Raskin scored. Chermiti missed another chance before Raskin set up Miovski to bundle home with a cross from the left. Falkirk were given a lifeline in the 70th minute when Miller netted from the spot, but Raskin's forward burst and Chermiti's ensuing goal restored Rangers' two-goal cushion. The Belgian midfielder was eventually booked for a clash with Dylan Tait. Miovski rounded off the scoring two minutes from time, converting Oliver Antman's low cross from close range. Rangers head coach Danny Röhl reflected on the match, 'Our start was poor, but the reaction was outstanding. It's easier to go into the break with a win, and the spirit is great. The connection between our supporters and the team is excellent; we are one team now.'
