Golf legends Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus have expressed their support for Tiger Woods, who is currently absent from the Masters tournament due to health concerns. Woods, a 15-time major champion, has been dealing with the aftermath of a recent car accident and is seeking treatment. Player, who has been open about his own experiences with pain, sympathized with Woods' struggles but emphasized the importance of prioritizing his safety on the road. 'If I or anyone in this room had to endure the kind of pain Tiger has been going through, we would understand his need for relief,' Player said. 'However, I strongly advise him against driving, as it poses a significant risk to himself and others when taking medication.' Player suggested that Woods consider hiring a chauffeur to ensure his safety while traveling. Jack Nicklaus also offered words of encouragement, stating, 'Golf needs Tiger, and we'd love to have him back.' Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley expressed the organization's support for Woods' decision to focus on his health and well-being. Woods has only participated in 11 official tournaments since November 2020 and has not made a competitive appearance since The Open in July 2024.
