Carragher Slams Slot's Tactics as Liverpool Falls to PSG

Jamie Carragher has criticized Arne Slot's tactical approach, stating that he got it 'massively wrong' in Liverpool's 2-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-final first leg. Carragher believes that the use of a back five, combined with man-to-man marking, exposed Virgil van Dijk and left Liverpool vulnerable to PSG's attacks. The former Liverpool defender expressed concern over the significant gap in class between the two teams, despite Liverpool spending heavily in the summer. Slot's decision to switch to a back five was an attempt to contain PSG's threat, but it ultimately backfired. Carragher thinks that Van Dijk, who was uncomfortable in the back three, will be pleading with Slot to never use that system again. Meanwhile, Slot acknowledged that Liverpool were fortunate to only lose 2-0, given the number of chances PSG created. He remains hopeful that the tie can be turned around at Anfield, citing the difference the home crowd can make.
