Laura Robson's Grueling London Marathon Preparation: A Journey from Melbourne to Miami
Former British tennis star Laura Robson, now a prominent TV presenter and analyst, has been undertaking a rigorous training regimen for the upcoming London Marathon. Her preparation has taken her to various locations around the world, including Melbourne, Milan, and Miami, where she balanced her training with her work commitments at the Australian Open, Winter Olympics, and Miami Open. Robson has now returned to the UK and is focusing on the final stages of her training, ready to tackle the 26.2-mile course that passes iconic landmarks such as the Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge, and Buckingham Palace. In a recent interview, Robson expressed the challenges she faces, stating, 'I'm training for the London Marathon and it's brutal.' Despite the difficulties, she remains determined to achieve her goal of completing the marathon in under 3 hours and 40 minutes. Robson's training has been a mix of treadmill runs, snow running, and outdoor exercises, all while maintaining a carbohydrate-rich diet and staying hydrated. She has also sought advice from fellow athletes on maintaining a consistent pace and not getting discouraged by daily targets. As the marathon approaches, Robson is looking forward to the electric atmosphere and the sense of accomplishment that comes with completing the challenging course. She will be running in support of the charity Give It Your Max, which provides free tennis lessons and support to children in schools.
