JJ Spaun Wins Valero Texas Open After Robert MacIntyre Falls Short

JJ Spaun claimed his second Valero Texas Open title, finishing one stroke ahead of Robert MacIntyre and Matt Wallace. The 2025 US Open champion made a remarkable comeback with three birdies and an eagle on the back nine to card a 5-under 67. MacIntyre, who led for much of the week, completed his delayed third round with an even-par 72 and retained a one-shot lead. However, he failed to match Spaun's total in the final round, despite an eagle at the 17th hole. Spaun's victory marked his first win since the US Open at Oakmont last year. "This game is so crazy," Spaun said, reflecting on his win. "I haven't been feeling the form I wanted, but I've been trying to take each day as it comes and accept what I have." MacIntyre and Kim tied for second place on 16 under, while Ludvig Åberg and Andrew Putnam shared fifth place.
