Texas Open Play Suspended Due to Inclement Weather, MacIntyre's Lead Narrowed

Inclement weather has forced the suspension of the third round of the Valero Texas Open until Sunday, with Scotland's Robert MacIntyre seeing his lead reduced to two shots by Ludvig Aberg after six holes. Following a six-hour delay, play was officially halted at 4:55 pm local time. MacIntyre had begun the day with a strong lead, built on the back of a 66 and a 64 in the opening rounds. A steady start to his third round, including a birdie on the fifth hole, took him to 15 under par. Meanwhile, Aberg, his playing partner and Ryder Cup teammate, made a strong start with birdies on the first two holes and matched MacIntyre's birdie on the fifth. Matt Wallace climbed into a share of third place, aided by two eagles, and stands at seven under through 14 holes, two shots behind the leaders. Ryo Hisatsune of Japan is also on 11 under, while England's Marco Penge made a remarkable move into a share of fifth place, just a shot further back, after birdying six consecutive holes.
