Wilder told Sky Sports, 'It can happen and it will happen, as long as I have the confidence to do what I need to do.' He also expressed his desire to unify the division, stating that it would be an 'overwhelming feeling' for him. Usyk has previously expressed interest in fighting Wilder, and the American is convinced that the fight can still be made. Wilder is set to face Derek Chisora this weekend and is determined to prove himself a threat. He said, 'I'm looking forward to being dangerous at all times, it's going to be a war.' Wilder feels that the heavyweight division needs him, citing his authenticity and personality as key factors.
