Albert Einstein and Gstaad Withdrawn from Guineas Due to Administrative Mistake

Trainer Aidan O’Brien has revealed that a clerical mistake led to the unintentional withdrawal of Albert Einstein and Gstaad from the Betfred 2000 Guineas. Prior to his underwhelming performance in the Gladness Stakes at the Curragh, Albert Einstein was a top contender for the Rowley Mile Classic. Following the disappointing outcome, O’Brien suggested that his horse might switch to sprinting, but a decision regarding his participation in the Newmarket event was pending. Gstaad, the winner of the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, had been gaining momentum as O’Brien’s primary hope for securing an 11th 2000 Guineas victory. This was especially so after a promising racecourse gallop at the Curragh on Sunday. However, in a surprising turn of events, Gstaad was also withdrawn from the May 2 event on Tuesday morning. In a statement to the Press Association, O’Brien explained: “It was a computer error, and we are working to reinstate them in the competition.”
