Hamilton Disappointed with 'Disastrous' Japanese Grand Prix Performance

Lewis Hamilton expressed his disappointment with his performance at the Japanese Grand Prix, labeling it 'pretty terrible' after he slipped from a podium position to finish sixth. Hamilton had initially benefited from a mid-race Safety Car, overtaking George Russell to take third place, but was unable to maintain his position and eventually fell behind his teammate Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris. 'It was pretty terrible because I was in third and then went backwards,' Hamilton said, citing a lack of power as the primary issue. 'I had a significant power deficit, particularly in the second stint, and couldn't keep up with the others.' Hamilton's struggles continued throughout the weekend, and he trailed Leclerc in Suzuka, leaving him perplexed about his lack of pace. Meanwhile, Leclerc rebounded from a difficult Safety Car period to secure a strong finish, emerging victorious in intense battles against Russell and Hamilton. Leclerc remains third in the Drivers' Championship, 23 points behind Kimi Antonelli, and acknowledged that his team still has work to do to bridge the gap with Mercedes.
