Sky Sports Earns Five Nominations for SJA British Sports Journalism Awards

This year, Sky Sports has received five nominations for the SJA British Sports Journalism awards, with notable contenders including Kaveh Solhekol, Craig Slater, Adam Bate, and Megan Wellens. The 49th annual awards ceremony, which began in 1976 with Hugh McIlvanney and Ian Wooldridge as the first winners of the SJA Sportswriter of the Year Trophy, will take place on April 27, 2026. The awards have evolved to include a Sports Publisher category, which brings together organizations from various platforms and formats. The category has 10 contenders, including Sky Sports, The Athletic, Telegraph Sport, and CNN Sports, all recognized for their digital publishing expertise. The feature writer award has been split into long-form and short-form sub-categories for the first time, while the Specialist Correspondent category includes sports such as darts, F1, and tennis. The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony at the London Palladium.
