Scotland Women's Team Recalls Eilidh Adams for World Cup Qualifiers Against Belgium

Eilidh Adams, the Hibernian forward, has been reinstated to the Scotland women's squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifying matches against Belgium. Adams, who has earned three caps, was previously sidelined due to an injury as the team began their campaign with consecutive victories over Luxembourg. Chelsea Cornet, a midfielder for Birmingham City, and Amy Muir, a defender for Glasgow City, have also been re-selected after overcoming injuries that forced them to withdraw from the previous squad. Rangers' Leah Eddie has retained her place in the team after being called up as a late replacement in the previous squad. However, her teammates Jodi McLeary and Amy Rodgers from Nottingham Forest have been left out after being unused substitutes against Luxembourg. According to Scotland head coach Melissa Andreatta, the competitive nature of the squad is evident, with players working diligently off the field to ensure selection. Andreatta emphasized that the squad's performance and form will be crucial in determining the team's success. The Scots will host Belgium, who also have six points from their opening two games, at Easter Road on April 14 and then travel to Leuven four days later. Andreatta expressed her expectation that the team will play relentlessly against Belgium, attacking and defending with vigor. The head coach also stressed the importance of thriving under pressure and taking control of their destiny by delivering their best performance. The squad is comprised of goalkeepers Eartha Cumings, Lee Gibson, and Sandy MacIver, defenders Georgia Brown, Jenna Clark, Nicola Docherty, Leah Eddie, Sophie Howard, Emma Lawton, Rachel McLauchlan, and Amy Muir, midfielders Chelsea Cornet, Erin Cuthbert, Kirsty Maclean, Maria McAneny, Miri Taylor, and Caroline Weir, and forwards Eilidh Adams, Lauren Davidson, Freya Gregory, Kirsty Hanson, Kirsty Howat, Mia McAulay, and Kathleen McGovern.
