Draper's Miami Open Run Ends with Second-Round Loss

British tennis player Jack Draper's Miami Open campaign was cut short after a second-round defeat to American Reilly Opelka. The 6ft 11in Opelka dominated the match, taking both sets to tie-breaks and winning 7-6 (7-3) 7-6 (7-0). Draper, who was competing in only his second ATP Tour event following an eight-month injury layoff, was unable to find a way past Opelka's powerful serve, which yielded 25 aces and 47 winners. Despite making just six unforced errors, Draper struggled to create opportunities against his opponent. "It's going to take time" to regain his form, Draper said after the match, acknowledging that his comeback from injury is still in its early stages. The loss puts Draper at risk of falling further down the rankings, having recently lost his British No 1 spot to Cameron Norrie. In contrast, fellow British player Katie Boulter advanced to the third round after her opponent Clara Tauson retired due to injury.
