Huddersfield Giants Part Ways with Coach Luke Robinson Following Fifth Consecutive Loss

The Huddersfield Giants have relieved head coach Luke Robinson of his duties, following the team's fifth straight loss in the Betfred Super League. The latest defeat, which came at the hands of Bradford, left the Giants at the bottom of the standings with no points from their first five matches and a significant deficit in scoring difference. This development led to Robinson's dismissal. According to Ralph Rimmer, the club's director of change, "Luke Robinson is an exceptional individual and a club legend, but the current circumstances have necessitated this change." The match against Bradford was closely contested in the first half, with the Bulls narrowly leading 4-2 at halftime. However, the home team pulled away in the second half, leaving Huddersfield trailing behind. Robinson had previously served as the Giants' boss on an interim basis in 2020 before taking on the role full-time in September 2024. Andy Kelly, the club's director of rugby, will assume interim charge, commencing with the upcoming match against the Wigan Warriors. The club is currently seeking expressions of interest for the head coach position, with a deadline of March 28.
