Southampton Stuns League Leaders Coventry with 2-1 Victory

Southampton's in-form team brought an end to Coventry's six-match winning run, securing a 2-1 victory at the CBS Arena. The Saints took the lead shortly after half-time when Flynn Downes capitalized on a rebound, and Kuryu Matsuki doubled their advantage with just five minutes remaining. Although Victor Torp's stoppage-time penalty gave Coventry hope, it was not enough to change the outcome, as the Sky Blues suffered only their second home defeat of the season. This win allowed Southampton to maintain their unbeaten run in all competitions, now at 12 matches, and kept them in pace with sixth-placed Wrexham in the pursuit of a play-off spot. Southampton doubled their lead in fortunate fashion when Bree's corner hit the unmarked Matsuki and rolled past Rushworth. Torp then scored a penalty he had won himself after being fouled by Shea Charles.
