DeChambeau Secures Thrilling LIV Golf Victory in Stormy Singapore

Bryson DeChambeau claimed his fourth LIV Golf League title and first 72-hole win since the 2024 US Open, after emerging victorious in a dramatic play-off at the Aramco LIV Golf Singapore. DeChambeau began the weather-affected final round one shot behind leaders Joaquin Niemann and Lee Westwood at Sentosa Golf Club, before posting a five-under 66 to finish on 14 under alongside wildcard Richard T Lee. The play-off saw the two players return to the par-five 18th, where Lee's three-putt bogey from 10 feet handed DeChambeau the win, despite the latter recovering from finding water off the tee to scramble par. 'It's an incredible relief,' DeChambeau said. 'I haven't won over 72 holes since the US Open in 2024. To come through on a demanding golf course like this, with conditions changing, I'm overjoyed for my team.' Lee took the initial lead after closing his round with a birdie at the par-five last, matched by DeChambeau, to force a play-off. DeChambeau pulled his shot into the water but managed to get up and down for a clutch par, as Lee missed a 10-foot birdie chance and then a putt from barely two feet. 'I have a lot of respect for Richard and the way he plays golf,' DeChambeau added. 'I wanted to go another hole with him. As much as winning is great, I think he's been playing some unbelievable golf.' Lee reflected on his missed opportunity, saying: 'It was a short putt and I wanted to just hit it hard, and I hit it a little too hard. I think the adrenaline was pumping a little bit.' The Singapore event was the second of three consecutive LIV Golf League events in a three-week period, with the next event taking place at The Club at Steyn City, South Africa from March 19-22.
