Stuart Hogg Released Without Charges Following Arrest for Alleged Non-Harassment Order Breach

Stuart Hogg, the former captain of Scotland's rugby union team, was released without charges after his arrest related to an alleged breach of a non-harassment order. In November 2024, Hogg, 33, pleaded guilty to verbally abusing and stalking his estranged wife, Gillian Hogg, and was subsequently banned from contacting her for five years. He received a community payback order with a year of supervision and a five-year non-harassment order in January last year. Hogg was arrested again on February 12, 2026, but was later released without charge. A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed the arrest and release, stating that a 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with a reported breach of a non-harassment order but was released without charge. Hogg stated on Instagram that he cooperated fully with the police investigation and has respect for the legal process. This development comes after Hogg was recently stripped of his MBE, which he received in 2024 for his services to rugby, including his tenure as Scotland's rugby union team captain from 2020 to 2022.
