Constitution Hill Set for Second Flat Start with Ryan Moore at Kempton
Constitution Hill is gearing up for his second flat start at Kempton Park on Wednesday. Nicky Henderson's nine-year-old will be one of 10 contenders in the Virgin Bet Novice Stakes, alongside Harry Eustace's Sea Of Kings. Following a successful Champion Hurdle win in 2023, Constitution Hill experienced a series of setbacks over timber, prompting his connections to transition him to a new career. His debut on the flat at Southwell last month was impressive, with a nine-and-a-half-length win under Oisin Murphy. With Murphy currently suspended, Ryan Moore has been booked to ride the champion hurdler this time around. Henderson emphasized that the goal is to secure a handicap mark, rather than gaining experience. Potential future plans include the John Porter at Newbury on April 18. The horse's rating remains uncertain, and Henderson is eager to see how he performs in his upcoming run.
