Livingston's Relegation Fears Worsen After Defeat to Kilmarnock

Livingston's bid for survival in the Scottish Premiership suffered a major setback as they fell 12 points behind at the bottom of the table, with only seven games left to play, following a disappointing 2-0 defeat at the hands of relegation rivals Kilmarnock. The match, played at Rugby Park, saw goals from Joe Hugill and Findlay Curtis extend Livingston's winless league streak to 29 games. To make matters worse for the visiting team, defender Brooklyn Kabongolo received a late red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity as Curtis broke through, further compounding their misery. Prior to the game, a minute's applause was held in memory of former Kilmarnock manager Jim Fleeting, who had recently passed away. Livingston had needed a strong start but found themselves on the back foot early on as Hugill narrowly missed an opportunity, his attempted volley initially mishit before he poked the ball just wide.
