Fury Still at the Top of His Game for Boxing Comeback

Eddie Hearn believes Tyson Fury is still in his prime and his return to the boxing world is a significant boost for the sport. Fury, 37, recently announced his comeback, almost a year after his last retirement, and is expected to start with a warm-up fight before facing a top heavyweight opponent later in the year. "It's a fascinating situation," Hearn said in an interview with Sky Sports News. "On one hand, you want to prepare for a challenge against an elite fighter, but on the other hand, you're coming back from a long break and might not want a taxing fight right away." Hearn thinks Fury's return is great for boxing, saying, "Boxing can be a lifesaver at various stages in life. Although I don't think Fury needed saving, it's clear that boxing has helped him in the past, and now he seems happier than ever." Fury, who will turn 38 in August, has not fought since his points loss to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024. Hearn praises Fury as an incredible fighter who is still in his prime, despite his recent losses. A potential fight with Anthony Joshua, another former world champion, had been discussed, but Joshua is currently taking time off from boxing after a tragic car accident involving his friends and team members. Hearn says Joshua's future in boxing is uncertain and that only Joshua can decide when or if he will return to the sport.
