Eddie Hearn: Anthony Joshua's Future in Boxing Rests Solely in His Hands

Promoter Eddie Hearn asserts that Anthony Joshua is the sole decision-maker regarding his future in the sport. This comes after Joshua's friends, Sina Ghami and Latif 'Latz' Adoyele, tragically died in a car accident in Nigeria, in which Joshua was also involved and sustained minor injuries. When questioned about Joshua's potential hiatus from boxing, Hearn expressed that he expects Joshua to take significant time off. Hearn stated, 'You need someone to have their time and to just be left alone, really, to get over, like I said, not just a terrible incident, but just one that you can never prepare for in life.' Hearn emphasized that Joshua's future will be revealed by Joshua himself, saying, 'The future of Anthony Joshua will be told by Anthony Joshua. And that's the only voice you should listen to in that respect.' Hearn also acknowledged that Joshua will require time to heal physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually before making any decisions about his boxing career.
