Eric Ramsay Named New Head Coach of West Bromwich Albion

West Bromwich Albion has announced the appointment of Eric Ramsay, former first-team coach at Manchester United, as their new head coach. The 34-year-old leaves his position at Minnesota United in the MLS, where he spent two seasons, to replace Ryan Mason, who was dismissed after a string of away losses left the team 18th in the Championship. Ramsay has agreed to a two-and-a-half-year contract and will take charge of his first game against Middlesbrough on Friday. He previously worked under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick, and Erik ten Hag at Manchester United and also served as an assistant to Rob Page with the Wales national team. In 2024, Ramsay became the youngest permanent head coach in MLS history when he took over at Minnesota United, leading them to a club-record points total. He will be assisted by Dennis Lawrence, who joins from Minnesota. James Morrison, the first-team coach, led West Brom to a victory over Swansea City in the FA Cup third round.
