Jack Draper Set for Davis Cup Return After Injury

British men's tennis No 1, Jack Draper, is preparing to make his comeback in February's Davis Cup tie against Norway after recovering from an arm injury. Draper has been named in the five-man team alongside Cameron Norrie, Jacob Fearnley, and the world's top-ranked doubles pair, Lloyd Glasspool and Julian Cash. The 11th-ranked ATP singles player had only participated in one match since Wimbledon due to bone bruising in his left arm and had announced that he wouldn't be fit for the 2026 Australian Open. Draper's availability is a significant boost for captain Leon Smith, although there's still a month to go before the qualifier in Oslo. The winner of the tie will advance to the second qualifying round in September. Draper, who reached a career-high ranking of No 4 last year, has slipped out of the top 10 after Alexander Bublik's Hong Kong Open win. He has recently hired Andy Murray's former coach, Jamie Delgado, while his previous coach, Trotman, has stepped back to prioritize family time. During his time with Trotman, Draper won three ATP Tour titles, including the Masters 1000 crown in Indian Wells, and made his major Grand Slam breakthrough by reaching the semi-finals of the US Open in 2024.
